The way that you plan to accomplish what you have in mind will have everything to do with the outcome. This simple fact is so powerful that when employed it can revolutionize the way that your work, life, and happiness, take place. Planning, or rather, a lack of planning can catch you at moments without preparation, and that lack of preparation can result in chaos, discomfort and loss of peace and prosperity. It happens all the time; you hear it all the time, “I never expected that,” “I wasn’t thinking that was going to happen,” “It wasn’t what we were expecting.” All of those sorts of statements, when you hear them; are, 180 degrees away from the reality, and that’s the tough part of being prepared. Here is a quick example:
A person has to be somewhere- at a set time. Instead of leaving ten or fifteen minutes early, by plan, they wait until the last minute. As a result of that they speed, and you can finish that without even trying, can’t you. But, they weren’t “expecting that.” True enough, we aren’t expecting them to be sitting there behind that sign, but, sure enough, police do that, don’t they?
The success police, known as, the public, your patrons, the customer, they are sitting out there right now, the only question is, are you going to plan to reach them or not?
Today we do planning in ways that were not possible just one year ago, we use Twitter as a plans maker and announcer, we use social networking, like Facebook, and MySpace, to establish and work out sound plans with groups, which wasn’t being used to the extent that it is today, just one year back. So as times change do you think it’s important for our planning concepts and ideas to change as well?
We will be going into the specifics of planning in the next few entries almost daily, so if you have an interest in how to plan, be sure to check back here. Be sure to leave a comment if you’d like we love to hear from our readers.

Suppose you’re there- you’re watching him…
it’s early dawn…you’re up, the others aren’t;
it’s quiet- the hills that are dry and hot and
sweltering in a few hours, they’re dew misted
right now, but it’s already warming up.

The sun has just cleared the rise and
you see him. A lone figure, kneeling on
the ground, he looks tired, even from this
distance, you can tell his shoulders are
shaking, and you know, you just know
he’s weeping, and you know that like on
so many other days; you’d love to ask
him”why”, but you probably won’t.

Then he looks your way, and the look in his eyes
nails your soul, and you know, the man
who is the only man besides your father
that you have ever loved, loves you.

It shakes you down, and your heart which
had jumped a bit at his gaze, now settles
back, and your mind knows, you can’t do
a thing about how you feel- you know that
what he has been praying is what he told
you he would; he said it goes like this:
My Image“Our father…”

Now it’s several thousand years later,
you are peering over the edge of heaven
and what you’d like to tell the person
reading this is…

You see, the gaze of love never changes,
does it?

Remember as a child how important it was to know how far it was, when would we get there? Remember the urgent wanting to know about the future, that as a teenager you actually believed that you understood? Only to discover as you left your teens, you also didn’t know as much about the future as you thought? It is our plight not to know some things, maybe that is why we are in many ways blessed not to know. This video is about what we are becoming, as much as it is about what is happening. Hope you enjoy the ride, the distance, you see, isn’t the thing at all, is it?

To the edge of space

You may have wondered about why we are always
seeming to be so excited about the kinds of knowledge
that twitter is bringing our way of influence to a lot of people.
In one week a nicely sized church joined our ranks
as over 700 people joined drd4U, and we’re a relatively
tiny organization, many of the stars of twitter reach
over 200,000 people a day- that’s a lot of influence at
the touch of a key- wouldn’t you say?

Yet as Jesus looked out, across the lonely
night hills of Jerusalem, he looked into
this future that he knew so well, and saw
the plight of the heart without attachment
that has meaning stripped from it. Jesus
looked at the lonely, looked at the popular,
looked at the poor, looked at the wealthy;
looked at all the people who were at stake
on whether his decision was right. Now just
because we can, let’s pause and get our
perspective correct for this next statement:

There at the end of that entire universe the
creator stood- and reached his decision before
any other decisions were made:
Jhn 1:3 All things were made by him; and
without him was not any thing made that was made.

Now that we’ve got the perspective about right,
let’s understand this one sort of odd part of this,
you are in every letter of John 1:3!

Have a great day

It isn’t characteristic of you, in fact, people who know you would say that you aren’t yourself. Stop and think about that, if you aren’t yourself, who are you? Before you dismiss that out of hand as a ridiculous phrase, maybe there is more there than meets the eye? We’ve become quite sophisticated in our scientific and technological age, so much so, that we dismiss out of hand any talk of – demons. We dismiss out of hand, any talk of spirits, which aren’t good, being able to do anything with, or to, someone who is a Christian. We dismiss it out of hand and actually don’t even consider that if a person were under the influence of an evil spirit, they certainly wouldn’t be themself, would they? Now let’s back that up one time and ask ourselves if we’re real certain that we have it all ironed out about what Jesus meant when he talked about self denial? “Huh.” you ask, “what’s that your sayhing Dana, Jesus was talking about spirits and lives?” Well if we are to follow Jesus, my question becomes, can you do that without being indwelt with the Holy Spirit? So when you aren’t yourself..well, my, my, you might be showing an outer truth of an inner condition, and we who observe such might ought to do what?
Let’s leave it there…and you comment, we’ll pick it back up tomorrow, but my sense is you might want to dial in for that one, pretty sure, it might not be what you are used to hearin’…until then, let’s pray for one another.
Luk 18:1 And he spake a parable unto them [to this end], that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

You have, no doubt, heard of the manufacturing term, just in time, which means that things are made just as they are due to be shipped; there is no large scale warehousing of merchandise or parts. Sounds good and the idea behind it sounds good but as you probably know, sounding good and being good, may not be such. So there is a dichotomy of need and demand being met, versus, saying it will be met, when it is not. In so many situations, we’ve become used to it and here is how (These are only very short examples for this writing, there are many, many more…). You pull into a McDonalds drive-thru where the understanding is a three to five minute wait, but it can be longer, can’t it? We go into a SuperCenter, (not a bigger store with grocery shopping included, no, it’s a SuperCenter) and there are thirty or more checkout lines, including perhaps ten or more which are self service; the expectation is a quick check out, only, we all know, it can be, but usually, isn’t, is it? The point is, we’ve become used to having expectations set for us, that aren’t met. Just in time, it has become a mindset, and not just in the U.S., it has become a mindset in the world.
What happens next is straight out of the textbook on Pavlov and reinforced negative behavior- let dog in, ring bell, show food, dog salivates, dog eats; let dog in again, same process, then let dog in ring bell, no food, dog still salivates- why? Dog expects food, it is the expectation, it has been, in effect trained to behave in a certain way. Say food will be ready in five minutes (McDonalds), it can be, the expectation is that it will be, what happens when it is not? Are we being trained, to adjust to a negatively reinforced behavior set, and the question would be, who is the trainer?
Christian’s want to strain at this situation and insist that it has to be God or the Devil. If anyone asks the honest question about whether that’s real or not, they are viewed by those Christian’s as nuts. From such a mix eliminating set of outlooks, how can we expect those Christian’s to grow and develop healthy and enlightened outlooks, or, is the real desire to have Christian’s without healthy and enlightened outlooks? Caution is certainly warranted here- my suggestion is that if we aren’t careful we will do to the body of Christ what used to be done to mental patients who weren’t behaving as they were expected to.
Finally comes the question about how we are as Christian’s – because most of us don’t warehouse our belief, do we? We want to deliver it, just in time. Problem is, this belief in God doesn’t lend itself to that, does it? What do you think God says about such?

Luk 21:19 In your patience possess ye your souls.

In chess it’s called, taken “en passant,” and it means that one pawn takes the other for refusing to fight- so in chess, you either fight, or, if the situation is right, you get taken; you lose. Now the interesting part of that rule is that circumstances have to be just so-so. What scares me about life, and especially about the Christian life, is that many of those who claim they love Jesus are being taken out, “en passant,” for refusing to fight. Yet that’s not the only comparable situation between life and chess and Christianity- “oh,” you ask, “you mean there are more?” It might just be…

When you reach a certain point in the game, it becomes impossible for either party to win, this is called, a draw. This is Satan’s favorite ploy- C.S. Lewis, whom I did much of my background study for a Th.D. about; wrote an amazing book called “The Screwtape Letters”. In this work “Screwtape (along with his trusted scribe Toadpipe) holds an administrative post in the bureaucracy (”Lowerarchy”) of Hell, and acts more as a mentor than a supervisor to Wormwood, the inexperienced tempter; almost every letter ends with the signature, “Your affectionate uncle, Screwtape.” In the body of the thirty-one letters which make up the book, Screwtape gives Wormwood detailed advice on various methods of undermining faith and promoting sin in his Patient, interspersed with observations on human nature and Christian doctrine.”
In a draw- neither side wins- it is, however, a fight, and since it cannot be won, it continues on- as in the chess game, the players can often agree to play again. So it is in Satan’s favorite ploy amidst Christian’s- “let’s get them to fight each other, that way, they certainly won’t be fighting us.” In order to accomplish this Satan uses his best tactic- our egotistical sense of self.

It is interesting, isn’t it, that the first thing that we really see in the training of the disciples, is Jesus saying that if they are going to follow him they are going to have to learn to, deny themself. Jesus in the Aramaic Bible put it this way: 16:24. Then Jesus said to his disciples,
“Whoever wishes to follow me,
…curse your being and pick up your cross and follow me.

You may be used to hearing put this way: Mat 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any [man] will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

They are very closely aligned, which tells me the translation is relatively accurate- Matthew I believe was there with Christ, physically when He said this. It’s one of the fundamental precepts upon which all discipleship of Christ rests, so it makes a sort of bizarre sense that Satan would choose to attack a Christian at precisely this point, what about you, does he try to get at you, here?
