So yesterday we dealt with para (2)- today-
sort of obviously, we’ve moved to number (3)
as promised…please take the next two minutes
to take that in…and read the scripture reference
regarding the same at the end of the points:
(1)You have the feeling that someone
perhaps that person in line there,
over there, is looking at you?
You turn, but don’t see anyone
staring at you, that you can notice
it’s an odd feeling isn’t it?
(2)You get to the party early and
as you are being introduced around
you have the oddest sense that you
have been here, doing this very
thing; even though you know, that’s
silly because this is the only time
you have ever been here?
(3)You have heard about a hundred
sermons this year, in fact, by now
you pretty much know what the preacher
is going to say, and you begin to
tune ‘em out; only just then suddenly
with crystal quickness, you feel,
rather than hear, what they are
saying, and you start to cry?
Mat 9:20 And, behold, a woman, which
was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years,
came behind [him], and touched the hem of his garment:
Mat 9:21 For she said within herself, If I may
but touch his garment, I shall be whole.
Mat 9:22 But Jesus turned him about, and
when he saw her, he said,
Daughter, be of good comfort;
thy faith hath made thee whole.
And the woman was made
whole from that hour.
To feel this story you have to climb
out of that box of life you’ve gotten
accustomesd to and realize, a woman
in this day was not to touch a man’s
garment; especially a woman with an
issue of blood, a diseased person, and
a female; violated every standing law
on the books (No Doubt). So that
Jesus sensed her touching him,
He felt her, more than really was
aware of her.
Notice that in Christ there is no
legal review of the situation? To
the Master, reviewing the laws about
what she had done, apparently,
wasn’t of any value? What seems
to have been important, was that
she discovered that He is indeed
every bit as powerful as it was told
about that He was. Shame we can’t
get that into our hearts today,
isn’t it? We all know people who are
lonely, who live in states of incomplete
love, who are stressed out, burnt out,
kicked in the teeth by life; sure, they
might not have issues of the blood,
but they have far deeper issues,
really; and what do you suppose
the Master would say to them?
If they could but touch the hem
of His garment?
Until tomorrow…let’s pray
for one another.

Yesterdays entry caught some people up short
because they aren’t used to someone being
so blunt. That is true, here is something else
that is true- the damage to love that ruthless
evil has done, is pretty blunt, isn’t it?
One of the very real problems in this war
is just understanding how it is to be fought.
We want to fight it in a way that makes sense
to us, only problem with that is, such a means
doesn’t accomplish what you want, it has
the exact opposite effect. Want to know
why so many churches are struggling
it is this very thing- this reverse role of the
warfare of the spirit- we don’t win this war
with means that make sense to us.
Because of that, you feel powerless in
this fight; and that is the supreme paradox
of trust and relationship to God, letting go
and letting God. Sounds easy, turns out
to be very hard. One kind gesture, one
kind moment, one simple essence of
taking yourself off the center of the life
and considering the other person. It
does make a difference, they do notice
it, it does matter. Yes it gets to the point
sometimes that you do wonder if such is
true, but you can believe, on the life
of the one who gave that life up, that
it is true- He didn’t back down, when
they told Him, “If you’re gonna keep
on tellin’ us you’re God- we’re gonna
have to silence you.” He knew then,
the road to the cross he was asking you
to take part in- do so with GLEE!
| Mat 5:12 | Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great [is] your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you |

You may have wondered about why we are always
seeming to be so excited about the kinds of knowledge
that twitter is bringing our way of influence to a lot of people.
In one week a nicely sized church joined our ranks
as over 700 people joined drd4U, and we’re a relatively
tiny organization, many of the stars of twitter reach
over 200,000 people a day- that’s a lot of influence at
the touch of a key- wouldn’t you say?
Yet as Jesus looked out, across the lonely
night hills of Jerusalem, he looked into
this future that he knew so well, and saw
the plight of the heart without attachment
that has meaning stripped from it. Jesus
looked at the lonely, looked at the popular,
looked at the poor, looked at the wealthy;
looked at all the people who were at stake
on whether his decision was right. Now just
because we can, let’s pause and get our
perspective correct for this next statement:
There at the end of that entire universe the
creator stood- and reached his decision before
any other decisions were made:
Jhn 1:3 All things were made by him; and
without him was not any thing made that was made.
Now that we’ve got the perspective about right,
let’s understand this one sort of odd part of this,
you are in every letter of John 1:3!
Have a great day
It isn’t characteristic of you, in fact, people who know you would say that you aren’t yourself. Stop and think about that, if you aren’t yourself, who are you? Before you dismiss that out of hand as a ridiculous phrase, maybe there is more there than meets the eye? We’ve become quite sophisticated in our scientific and technological age, so much so, that we dismiss out of hand any talk of – demons. We dismiss out of hand, any talk of spirits, which aren’t good, being able to do anything with, or to, someone who is a Christian. We dismiss it out of hand and actually don’t even consider that if a person were under the influence of an evil spirit, they certainly wouldn’t be themself, would they? Now let’s back that up one time and ask ourselves if we’re real certain that we have it all ironed out about what Jesus meant when he talked about self denial? “Huh.” you ask, “what’s that your sayhing Dana, Jesus was talking about spirits and lives?” Well if we are to follow Jesus, my question becomes, can you do that without being indwelt with the Holy Spirit? So when you aren’t yourself..well, my, my, you might be showing an outer truth of an inner condition, and we who observe such might ought to do what?
Let’s leave it there…and you comment, we’ll pick it back up tomorrow, but my sense is you might want to dial in for that one, pretty sure, it might not be what you are used to hearin’…until then, let’s pray for one another.
Luk 18:1 And he spake a parable unto them [to this end], that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
