Suppose your life were coming to an end, suppose you knew it and there wasn’t anything anyone could do about that, but you weren’t through yet, you still had some things to say? You aren’t in pain, which is weird, you always thought death would bring pain; and it’s not, you aren’t frazzled, which is weird, everything is taken care of, there isn’t anything to do these last few days, but attempt as best you can; to explain to people that you really care about, that you love them.
Where would you start? My mind raced with possibilities, with things that needed to be said; with things that I wanted to make sure you understood, with things that were important, then it came upon me like a blanket of strong telling perfumed wonder, sweet, holding me, like a loving ghost, entranced; it let me know, it’s not about you, so don’t write it that way. Now I had an idea where to start, and you would be my thoughts, as you always have been so much of, these last days.
So lets begin with you as you come across; confident, extremely intelligent, very memorable, very considerate, very nice; always smiling, and giving and caring. You come across just like that. When you are in the room the room changes; when you leave the room, the quality of the room diminishes. When we are together, you make me smile, time goes bye twice as fast as it should, and I’m always sorry to have to see you leave, always. What does that really mean? It means that being in eternity with you is all I want, all I desire, all I need; you are it for me. But then it goes deeper than that, it goes to a spot where you mean more to me than my life means to me, where if someone were going to harm you, they would have to take my life to do it. Oh yes, I’m thankful for eternity, thankful you are going to be there, and hoping beyond hope, that you won’t mind me being there with you?
